One Source To Find Profitable Niches

One Source To Find Profitable Niches

Most people, including well-known gurus will point you to many different sources to uncover a profitable niche. This strategy is not wrong but it does create information overload making it difficult for you to focus especially if you are a beginner.

Clearly, a better strategy would be to focus on one reputable source to find a profitable niche. But which source should you focus on and why should you focus on this resource? In this blog post, I’m going to reveal the one and only source you need to find a profitable niche and why focusing on this source is the smart thing to do.

The Source Is “The Dummies Store”

It may come as a surprise but the Dummies Store is your best bet to find profitable niches. Here’s why:

  • Market Research: The folks at Dummies.com have clearly done their research so it is a good idea to piggyback on their market research.
  • Demand: Based on their research, if they have bothered to come up with a physical product then it is likely that there is demand making it is potentially profitable niche.
  • Brainstorming Tool: The Dummies Store is a great resource for brainstorming. The categories, table of contents and excerpts (if available) will give you ideas to generate potential keywords, articles and PPC ads depending on how you intend to promote.

How To Exactly Find A Profitable Niche Within “The Dummies Store”

Here’s a step-by-step method of finding a profitable niche within “The Dummies Store”.

  1. It is obvious but first you need to go to Dummies Store.
  2. Choose evergreen categories like Business, Investing & Careers, Self-Help & Relationships or Health & Fitness. Sure these categories can be competitive but competition is unavoidable in a niche where there is money. So for beginners, the trick is to choose a niche which is small yet profitable with competition that is not cut-throat.
  3. Narrow down by sorting the titles by “Published Date” so that you see the latest titles first. For example, I found a book on “IBS Cookbook” (see screenshot below) and read the description, author information and excerpts. This could potentially be a good market.

  4. Make a list of potential keywords for this niche and repeat this process to identify other niches.

Of course, you will need to do comprehensive keyword research and competitive analysis to assess the viability of the niche but that’s beyond the scope of this post.
