There were seven videos for Module 4 and I’m going to cover the main points of each video.
Video 1 – What You Will Learn
The first video is about the topics that are going to be covered in Module 4 of Cell Phone Cash are outlined in this video.

Video 2 – Understanding Networks
The second video of Cell Phone Cash is about understanding the mobile ad networks.
Usually people will go into search engines and search for mobile ad networks then they sign up and start promoting their products and services on these networks. The main flaw of this strategy is that there are too many cell phone networks around. The folks at Maverick Coaching tested many networks and found out that they best strategy was to focus on one network and one specific type of cell phone – i.e. iPhone. In April 2009, iPhone users downloaded over 1 billion apps. This shows the potential of focusing on one specific network and cell phone.
The possibilities of marketing on the iPhone is limitless and it gives you freedom for many mediums. For example, you can pay a game developer to place your ad in their iPhone games or advertise specifically on games, sports, finance tickers etc… This flexibility makes it very powerful and targeted.
Video 3 – The Largest Ad Network
The third video of Cell Phone Cash is all about AdMob which is the largest ad network for cell phones and they have served over 100 billion ad impressions around the globe. The recommendation is to skip all other cell phone advertising networks and focus on AdMob and AdMob only.
Video 4 – Best Marketing Methods
This fourth video is the most powerful video so far for me because the folks at Maverick Coaching talk about their best cell phone marketing tactics after spending lots of marketing dollars testing various methods. The five choices in order of importance, ease and response rate are as follows:
- 1st choice: Have a user call you directly. Hire people from Craigslist or any other service.
- 2nd choice: Have a user watch your pitch video with an affiliate link embedded. If possible wear a t-shirt with your web address or have the web address in the background.
- 3rd choice: Have a user listen to your pitch audio. Later videos show how to hire talent for pitch audios. Mention the website, at least 3 times in your pitch audio.
- 4th choice: Have a user visit website or landing page but there are so many problems with this strategy because websites need to be iPhone compliant.
- 5th Choice: Have a user install your iPhone app. The obvious difficulty with this strategy is the high level of programming knowledge required to develop an application. Furthermore, it is not always easy to get an application approved by Apple for the iPhone directory.
The Cell Phone Cash folks recommend using the first three techniques.
The remaining three videos are demonstration videos and I won’t get into much detail. The demo videos are as follows:
