Cell Phone Cash – Week 2 (Module 2)

I have just finished going through the videos of week 2 for Cell Phone Cash. There’s so much I learned about marketing on cellphones. Week 2 or Module 2 of Cellphone Cash has 7 videos and two of those videos are purely demonstration videos. Here’s a recap of what I learned from all the videos.

Video 1: Cell Phone Cash – What You Will Learn

The first video of Cellphone Cash deals with how to choose an offer and whether to take the long hard road which is creating a product from scratch or the short easy road which is promoting someone else’s product or service for a commission. This video generally touches on the topics that will be covered for week 2 which are discussed in detail below.

Video 2: Cell Phone Cash – Choosing Your Offer

The second video of Cell Phone Cash is about how to properly choose an offer. This is one topic that is rarely discussed in other Internet marketing products. The folks at Cell Phone Cash list out a number of factors to be considered while choosing an offer that is appropriate for marketing on cellphones.

1. The offer must be appealing to younger crowd. A lot of traditional Internet Marketing niches like weight loss, dog training, anxiety may not work as offers on a cell phone.
2. The offer most be easy for someone to take action, for example, CPA offers or free trials.
3. It is best if the offer is fun, entertaining and interactive.
4. An offer that will help people financially. For example, an offer about a product that teaches how to make money via cell phones is a good example.
5. The offer must be something that helps make people’s lives easier.

These are some of the factors that need to be considered while choosing an offer to promote using cell phones.

Video 3: Cell Phone Cash – Proven Success Paths

The third video of Cell Phone Cash is about proven success paths while promoting using a cellphone. The main learning points for me in this video were as follows:

1. The best thing to promote is your own existing product or service even if all the criteria stated above in choosing you offer is not met. However, if you want to create a product from scratch then this is the long hard road which comes with its own rewards as well as pitfalls.
2. The second best thing to do is promote other people’s products or services as an affiliate. The objective could be to drive leads, drive traffic or drive sales.
3. One of the best ways to promote is using live inbound voice phone calls especially for high priced items because people don’t usually buy big ticket items via cell phones directly. Higher dollar ticket items will most likely be sold via directly talking to people. In this case, people see your ad on their cellphones and press a button to call a number.
4. The other good way to promote is using online streaming videos in places such as YouTube. The video can explain the features and benefits of the product and has your affiliate link embedded. The demo videos show how exactly to create a streaming video with an embedded affiliate link.
5. Another way to promote is using audio, music, podcasts, news etc… For example, you can make a jingle or a news bulletin that is actually a pitch for the product. A video at a later date promises to reveal which method is best for the type of product you’ll be promoting.

Video 4: Cell Phone Cash – The Long Hard Road

The fourth video of Cell Phone Cash is about taking the “long hard road” which means creating your own product from scratch. A number of pitfalls to consider:

1. Setting up your own hosting account can be long and strenuous. It will be difficult for a lay person to do it all by themselves.
2. Set up your own payment processing and merchant account. This is the second most difficult thing as there’s a lot of integration needed. Paypal is one example of a payment processor which needs a relatively high level of whereas ClickBank is the processor that’s easier and recommended. I know via personal experience that setting up with services like 1ShoppingCart can be quite difficult but the great thing about this approach is that you can manage everything including autoresponders and affiliates under one integrated account.
3. Another difficulty is setting up a website and publishing it online. For example, people have the misconception that buying a template with a service like Template Monster and start making money but they do not realize how difficult it can be to customize a template
4. Another difficulty people run into is preparing marketing materials and hoping your offer converts. Writing a sales page is not easy at all. I am going to be a lifelong student of copywriting and am in the constant process of trying to improve my writing. This is one of the reasons I write entries on this website.

Video 5: Cell Phone Cash – The Short Easy Road

The fifth video of Cell Phone Cash is about taking the “short easy road” which means becoming an affiliate and promoting other people’s products and services. The video deals with the following topics:

1. Finding a product that you can promote for a recurring commission. These products are relatively hard to find but they are an incredible source for making money month after month.
2. Using ROIRocket where you get paid by leads and per sales but this resource has no products with recurring commissions products.
3. Creating your audio, video or inbound live voice call source. You can hire someone for the live voice call. You can create an text ad if you do not want to use these three promotion vehicles.
4. Uploading your content to the Internet. Audio on your own server and lots of other places on the Internet and video on YouTube. For the inbound live voice call source, you can setup a voicemail with an automated message.
5. Promote the product on AdMob and Cell Phone Cash teaches AdMob promoting strategies very well.
